Some Smiggle stuff I bought
Well, my family and I arrived in Auckland at midnight last night. The trip felt so long! Plus we got a flat tyre in the gorge! My flashlight application had it’s first real purpose since I downloaded it! I used to so Dad could see what he was doing when replacing the tyre. Fun times.
Sorry about the above photo – taken from my cellphone
Those are some of the items you can buy from Smiggle! The amazing stationary store that was started in Australia and a man thought it up because there was a big gap in fashion-forward stationary and I think I remembered all of this from a Smiggle brochure I picked up last year! Anyway, those pens and notebook are all part of a Smiggle series called “Scribble“. Smiggle has a cool website with products, gift cards and other fun stuff! If you live in Australia or New Zealand, you’ve probably already heard of it. But I love stocking up on Smiggle stuff when I come to Auckland!
The following takes place on Gladstone Road, 15:02.
“Yes, school’s finished! I’ll walk out this gate because it’s closer. Oh my gosh, there’s the boy’s high bus. They’re waiting for someone to cross, I could probably turn around and walk the other way. Oh, but they’ve already seen me, I better keep walking and not make eye contact. Shame.
Just keep walking, just keep walking. Ooh, theres someone I know – better say hi or I’ll look like a snob. Hi. Hmm, I must look weird, better check my pockets so I look like I’m doing something semi-important. Ooh, a dollar, dollar fifty, dollar seventy – two dollars! I must be off to the shop then. Jesus, this girl’s got her swag on, walk faster. Oh, shame, I have to overtake her. Ready. Aaaaand, overtake.
Phew, she didn’t look at me. Shop, shop, shoppity shop. Those one dollar cookies are just calling my name. Just grab one of those … and a packet of lollies so I don’t look cheap.” “That’s two dollars” “Here you go, thanks! Yumm, something sugary. I wont open it now, or I’ll look too eager. Umm, nah I’ll eat it now – I’m hungry. C’mon, where’s Mum.
My hair feels weird. I wanna check it, but I’ll look too vain. Ooh, here’s a shop. I’ll pretend to be interested in what’s in the store, but actually check out my hair in the window. Oh, shame. Too much people in there, maybe the next shop. Ew, my fringe is clipped back funnily. Oh well, it’s windy and people can’t blame me.”

Aaaand, that’s pretty much what I was thinking.
Shin pads.
Shin pads are designed to protect your shins, and make sure you do not injure yourself! And me, being so chill about most things said, “Oh, it’s only practice – I wont get hurt!” And I was right, until the last 5 minutes of hockey practice, where one of my team mates swept the ball, and their follow through with the stick was the thing that got me. My shin was struck by a stick, going who knows how fast
I was wearing tights, and didn’t lift them to check what actually happened after the collision. When I did check, I .. I don’t know. I was mad at myself for being a silly billy and not wear my shin pads! My shin was literally split. Split. Spliiit. And it was white on the inside. Is that flesh? Or fat?! Haha, I’m gonna say flesh … But … hey — doesn’t this totally remind you of my shinWIN post?! Haha! And, the split on my shin is literally 1 centimeter away from my surfing scar. Good times!
Do believe me when I say I learnt my lesson.
I wore shin pads yesterday.

I don’t know if you understand the drawing, but yesterday I fell off the surfboard! I didn’t realize I had skinned it, and continued surfing in the waves. But my leg was sorta distracting, so I walked back in to shore to check it out.
Honestly, it was terrible looking at it. There was no skin left. Zilch.
Wide eyed and embarrassed, I walked over to mum and dad. Dad told me to wash my leg in the water. I sighed and headed back to the sea. I splashed water on my shin, and the bleeding stopped to no avail.
Poor sister. I used her white shorts to tie around my leg
The funny thing is, the part where I skinned my shin is in the shape of the ‘Dragon Wagon’. Lol, I seem pretty lost right now, but it looks like one of those carts you sit in. Is that crazy or what?!
What.
But my shin seems to be healing. Slowly. My friend and I used to have a motto, and that was, ‘always go for the shin’. Seems to have backfired
So, uh, I’m gonna hit the hay – and hopefully my shin wont be too bothersome in the morningggg

Yes. Cordial making is not my thing.
I ripped the cordial bag open, and heaps of cordial scattered on to the bench. As I tried to collect the cordial into a pile, my uncle suggested I use a piece of paper. I shook off that idea, and continued to try and tip the cordial crystals into the bottle. The crystals went everywhere except the bottle.
I swear, I make cordial making look like rocket science. I ran to my room, and grabbed a piece of paper. I rolled it up, and made it into a funnel. I is genius!
The cordial came out pretty sweet in the end

I can’t believe its the holidays already! The year has gone so fast, and I’m actually really sad about not being at school, LOL.
It’s been so hot lately – the next few weeks are going to be insane! It must be nice to have Christmas during the winter. Sounds fun
:O !!! Last Saturday I headed out to Rotorua for a cricket tournament! We won four out of five games, and I got one of Manukau’s batsman out on the last ball (hehe)! But the second time we faced them, they were cheating and weren’t calling 4s! So my friends and I sat on the boundary to make sure they didn’t continue cheating! And when it was our team’s turn to bat, we caught up to them in the 26th over
My friend and I got the winning run! Yeahh. Cheaters never prosper, or something
To celebrate the win, our coach took us to the luge [<<one of the luge tracks, shown via 'LugeCam'], and 3 girls from the team went on the SkySwing! It was terrible just watching them! We even shook the Gondola violently on the way up [and down!], lol. But overall, it was an amazing experience!
So yeah! Oh, and I watched Avatar today! It was awesome!! The animation was brilliant and I found the storyline easy to follow
A must-see! Christmas is around the corner, and I’ll be at the beach a lot over the holidays! I drew this wave thingymebob, and that basically represents good old Gisborne (: That person surfing is quite rugged, and he represents our rugged peopl-
He represents our way of living, I guess! Gisborne people are the sort of laid back/positive types, methinks
I don’t know where this post is heading, but I think, what I’m trying to say is, ‘Merry Christmas, and have an awesome holiday!’

School has been real busy. I still don’t understand why the teachers save all of the assignments for the last 2 weeks of school. Urghh. At least we get shared lunches at the end of each term
High school has really opened my eyes. It really has.
Friendships have changed, fights occur often – over nothing. High school is like a major wake up call. Preparing students for the real world. I’m actually very worried. I guess the real world is quite confusing, frustrating.
You are taught to be kind, considerate, caring. But ‘out there’, people can take advantage of that. I know for a lot of people, it’s really hard to say ‘NO’. Where am I going with this … Everything would be OK if everyone got along? Like, I scratch your back – you scratch mine.
Ew.
Lol, to be honest I’ve wished for world peace, on all of my birthdays, for 6 years. Sounds lame, but I thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve seen this one quote, repeated countless times throughout Twitter; “to change the world, you must first change yourself”. I don’t mean to go all spiritual, but I think it’s really true. It’s one of those quotes where you don’t need to analyse the text, and figure out the answer for yourself. The quote is the point, I guess.
But instead of worrying about the future, I’ll enjoy life as it is, right now.
That was probably the more serious side of me. The happy, quirky me can be found on Twitter
